I’ve been recently reflecting on the Beatitudes.  Matthew 5:4 has been interesting to me because the comfort comes after the mourning.  One must grieve to be comforted.  There’s no promise of avoiding it.  There’s nothing that says the problem will be reversed.  It’s something that comes in order for there to be comfort.  There also can be a time of waiting.  It doesn’t say exactly when the comfort will come, but it will.  For whatever time, a mourner must wait before being comforted.
