Recently, I had to have a project critiqued. I found myself incredibly anxious. And, though it went well, after I kept playing back and analyzing things said and taking them as \u201cyou\u2019re doing bad.\u201d Thankfully, truth was coming in and saying these were lies, but it was hard to break out of.
I remembered a time in 4th grade of having a story I wrote for an assignment criticized by the teacher in front of the class, disdain for me writing it, and letting the class make fun of me for it all. I wish I was exaggerating. It was heavy things as a kid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What I realized is it was a traumatic event that shaped something. As I played back the recent project critique I could tell, hidden underneath, in a subconscious voice there was the belief \u201cI can\u2019t do anything right.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sure. It\u2019s not true. But it became a belief. As the Lord took me through a process of starting to snuff that voice out, Philippians 4:13 came to mind. I realized that I used this verse as how, I think, it\u2019s often used: oh I can just get through pain, or the Lord has something good for me. In the Amplified version the true word definitions are revealed. It\u2019s that I can do all things He has called me to do through His strength. That means good. That means right. That means well.
It\u2019s not \u201cI can\u2019t do anything right\u201d it is now \u201cI can do all things right\u201d and with His strength. I don\u2019t even have to rely on myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So, the verse is not a matter of getting through. It is active. It is to do good as I\u2019ve been called to do. And no circumstance, whether poor or in abundance, can stop me since I have Christ.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
